Lynn YMCA Music & Performing Arts Center

SV Design partnered with the YMCA of Metro North to reimagine and expand the Lynn YMCA’s Music & Performing Arts Center—an innovative, donor-funded hub created to increase access to arts education for local youth. Designed as a state-of-the-art learning environment, the new center offers free and low-cost opportunities in music lessons, vocal training, theater, digital production, creative labs, and hands-on arts exploration. The goal: to remove barriers, build confidence, and open pathways to creative discovery for the next generation.

First envisioned in 2017, the project reflects years of dedication from YMCA leadership, board members, community partners, and the music studio committee. Their shared commitment shaped a welcoming space where young people can safely explore new ideas, develop their artistic voice, and uncover talents they may not yet know they have.

The redesigned center moves beyond a traditional classroom—it serves as a dynamic creative hub for Lynn and surrounding communities. With no facility like it in the region, the space provides youth and teens a place to grow musically, experiment across disciplines, and channel their energy into meaningful, confidence-building pursuits.

Through thoughtful planning, inclusive design, and a deep investment in youth development, the Lynn YMCA Music & Performing Arts Center is poised to strengthen the cultural heartbeat of the city and empower generations of emerging artists.
