Brookwood School, Lower School

Located on 30 wooded acres in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Brookwood is a progressive private school for children grades pre-kindergarten through eight. To support the school’s educational and cultural mission, we designed their new lower school to be an open, welcoming, and flexible environment for learning and playful interaction.

We created a dynamic “town square” at the center of the new lower school for organized activities, student meetings and informal gatherings as well as a dedicated pre-k and kindergarten after-school space. The facility also includes a new commercial kitchen and dining hall. Our vision for the space was to create a friendly, home-like environment to foster a sense of community, along with world-class amenities that reflect Brookwood’s exceptional standards and reputation.
