Don & Dottie Smith YMCA Celebrates Topping Out in Falmouth

Falmouth, MA – Construction of the new Don & Dottie Smith YMCA reached an exciting milestone on September 10 with a topping out ceremony celebrating the placement of the final steel beam.

Members of the project team, YMCA Cape Cod leadership, community partners, and supporters gathered at the Brick Kiln Road site to mark the progress of the new 73,000-square-foot community hub. SV Design was pleased to join the celebration as both a project partner and event sponsor.

Designed to serve Falmouth and the surrounding Upper Cape communities, the new YMCA will bring health, wellness, recreation, and community resources together under one roof. The facility will include a gymnasium and running track, lap and therapy/instructional pools, a wellness center, exercise studios, youth and teen spaces, and outdoor recreation areas. A partnership with Community Health Center of Cape Cod will also provide integrated health services within the facility.

The topping out marks the latest chapter in bringing the long-awaited Upper Cape YMCA to life following its groundbreaking in December 2025. With the building’s steel structure now taking shape, the project continues its transformation from a shared community vision into a place designed to serve generations of Cape Cod residents.
