Job Summary:
SV Design is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual to join our Beverly commercial team. As a project architect, you will be working primarily on mid-to-large sized commercial projects. You will be working directly with a senior project manager/ principal to coordinate consultants, document and detail projects, and be one of the clients’ main points of contact. The role also includes extensive involvement in construction administration phases of projects.
Qualifications:
• Manage all phases of multiple residential projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget goals are met.
• Lead measurement and documentation of existing conditions.
• Oversee design development and construction drawings in Revit/CAD; provide redlines and guidance to junior staff.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors throughout design and construction.
• Review shop drawings, issue SKs, and conduct regular site visits.
• Prepare project documentation including specifications, meeting notes, and regulatory reviews.
• Lead client presentations and represent SV Design at town hearings for regulatory approvals.
• Mentor junior designers and uphold SV Design’s standards of design and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
Lead and actively participate in all phases of multiple projects, from concept through construction.
Ensure SV Design’s standards of quality, professionalism, and creativity are upheld throughout each project.
Collaborate with senior staff to develop and refine design solutions.
Oversee measurement and documentation of existing building conditions.
Translate hand-drafted schematic designs into Revit; produce and oversee design development and construction documents, including floor plans, RCPs, finish plans, elevations, and sections.
Coordinate with consultants to ensure cohesive and integrated documentation.
Develop and review architectural details in-house; demonstrate technical understanding of construction materials and methods.
Engage with manufacturer representatives as needed for product selection and technical support.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive drawing sets for all project phases.
Participate in construction administration (CA), including responding to contractor/client questions, reviewing shop drawings, issuing SKs, and making regular site visits.
Create and maintain project documentation such as programs, regulatory reviews, meeting notes, and construction drawings.
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and technical standards.
Assist clients with bidding and contractor selection processes.
Serve as the owner’s representative during construction: review payment applications, attend and document site visits and construction meetings.
Monitor project progress to ensure quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met; review monthly billing and manage staffing needs accordingly.
