SV Design Breaks Ground on Affordable Housing Community in Hyannis
Hyannis, MA – SV Design is excited to announce the groundbreaking of a new affordable housing community at 268 Stevens Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This project, spearheaded by the Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) and constructed by Dellbrook | JKS, aims to develop an inclusive neighborhood featuring 50 dwelling units designed for homeownership.
The 1.5-acre vacant lot is strategically located in a Growth Incentive Zone, which allows the team to create a vibrant community that meets the growing demand for affordable housing. The project will consist of a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, with a focus on providing a majority of two-bedroom homes.
"At SV Design, we believe that everyone deserves a place to call home. This groundbreaking project at 268 Stevens Street not only reflects our commitment to innovative and sustainable design, but also our dedication to fostering inclusive communities where families can thrive," said Thad Siemasko, Founding Principal at SV Design.
In addition to the residential units, the project will include resident amenities such as climate controlled storage rooms, a community lounge that opens onto an enclosed patio with grills and a fire pit, sitting areas on each floor level, and exterior bike storage, supporting a lifestyle focused on sustainability and community engagement. The building engages the street corner with ample platings, amplifying the neighborhood feel and walkability while shielding parking behind the building. The building’s massing and exterior are quintessentially Cape Cod with sloped gable roofs, shingle siding, stone and divided double hung windows.
