Steps from the water's edge and surrounded by ocean views, this North Shore colonial-style home defies expectations. Steering away from a traditional coastal look, SV Design worked with the client to design a spacious home that balances the strong ocean tones with an airy and bright interior. First, we developed a solution to open up the home's obstructed ocean views, and maximized light by adding corner windows. To counter the cool and often moody ocean blues outside, the interior decoration called for warm furnishings and cheerful pops of color.

Mixing patterns and working with an alluring color palette brought each space to life. Wall colors range from chartreuse in the sitting room to dusty purple in the dining room and create the perfect backdrop for the owner’s bold artwork. Warm stained white oak walls in the family room add texture, playing on the linear theme found throughout the home. Slatted furniture and modern striped rugs seamlessly tie each room together.
